FY17 Active Benefits Start August 1, 2016
MEA would like to remind all employees that your health, dental and vision plans are prepaid and are effective from August 1 to July 31 each year. Any changes made during this year’s open enrollment do not take effect until August 1, 2016.
The City will begin deducting for the new plan year in the pay period ending July 15, 2016 which is the July 29, 2016 payday. Your July 15th check will have no deductions due to 27 pay periods this year. Your current FY16 benefits will end July 31, 2016, and all services provided in the month of July will fall under your FY16 benefit plans. You cannot access FY17 benefits until August 1, 2016.
The City’s child care and dental/medical/vision reimbursement accounts run on the July 1st to June 30th cycle. Reimbursements are applied in the cycle for which dates of services are rendered.
